Bennet's not been feeling his best lately. A little under the weather, a touch of headache creeping in now and then. Nothing to worry about, though.

Unusually for him, usually so anchored in the real world despite all its strangeness, he's been catching himself having odd little flights of fancy. Watching people, and he doesn't know why, but unable to shake a feeling of deja vu when he does so. Probably seen them before somewhere, and never really paid attention, he thinks. They're just becoming more familiar faces. It's the same in the Nexus; as he visits and adapts to the people around, it's easier to recognise who's who.

They're just ... interesting, for some reason, he tells himself. Whatever reason that is.

It's too late to relax now, though. Not the time to lose focus, not the time to think about anything else than what he's heard.
He's back. Sylar, more a danger than ever.

He'd need all the resources he could find. More precisely, the resources the Company held. No way he could do this solo, but no way he'd want Claire anywhere near them.
There'd be a way, though, he knew. There always was. Probably worth asking around...

It's hard to decide whether the recent turn of events is a good one or a bad one. While it removes the immediate danger from the situation, in that there is no longer the requirement for him to kill to gain powers... I can't be sure that the leopard can change its spots so quickly.
Still.
We've lost one worry, but gained another. I hope Peter can handle this. From what I've seen... he seemed alright last time I saw him, but this could turn ugly. I just wish I could get my hands on the old Sylar files, for whatever good that'd do. It wasn't as if we ever fully understood him.

...Maybe there's a way. I should investigate.

((Heads-up; potentially very spotty internet for next two weeks.))

Alright; clarifications on the last post.

Thanks to wandering through an Improbability Field of ... rather improbable events, Bennet's been hit by what basically adds up to fiddling with his DNA special-style; but at the moment, he's only got the potential for special abilities. Any powers haven't emerged/expressed themselves, they won't for a while, if they do. I'm more bringing it in as a potential plot trigger if wanted, and any outward signs likely won't be for at least a few weeks as my 'net access is going down the tubes for a bit.

Also: I'm not claiming that this alteration is necessarily the classic hero-genes as I'm aware that that could place Peter in an awkward situation. It could be a variant form of the hero-genes; it could be the old fashioned X-gene, even; it could be something totally other - in any case, I'm willing to futz things however's needed for allowing Pete to either pick up the power or not when it emerges as is needed or wanted.
I've got a fairly good idea of what the ability *will* be, too, and I'll fill anyone in who wants.

When the moon first starts to slide in front of the sun during an eclipse, it's barely visible. Just the faintest, tiniest mark to begin - if you weren't looking for it, you'd hardly know it had happened. This is what is known as first contact. From that point on, the moon's progress is constant, becoming more and more obvious, until the inevitable blackout of the sky.

The headache doesn't go away until Noah gets home. Or what currently passes for home, anyway - it's been so long that he's almost starting to think that it is.

He's got no idea what it is that caused it; probably nothing more than a momentary blip. In the end, he decides it's nothing to worry about.
A blip, indeed, the smallest possible change to him overall. In the Nexus, something small's almost more improbable than something large. Fitting, given the source of the change.

Sometimes, it's little changes that cause big effects.
Can't get much smaller than a few genes changing. Important genes, but still.
(The truly improbable thing lies in that same change taking place throughout a human body... but is it so much more so than what he'd seen?)

He just pours himself a coffee and relaxes, knowing nothing of it at all.

Testing.

It's a quiet world off a quiet part of the Nexus, picked to be as far as possible from easy discovery; in a pseudo-infinite environment like that, it's not too hard.
At least - it was quiet. Not any longer.

A burst of green light illuminates a figure for a moment, before ploughing into a makeshift target.

Now that just felt strange. Alien weaponry, its fire not solid but energy and flame, acquired from an equally strange individual who he's only assuming is human. Something that shouldn't be so easy to take care of with TK. The sensations of the weight and recoil in Bennet's hands are somewhat different to what he's used to, but... he thinks he can handle it.
Especially if it's something that'll be harder for Sylar to.

Could've done with them before.

* Arranging access to plasma/energy weaponry; hopefully, should prove more resistant to TK interference (asked Peter for help). Need to learn how to use. Hope I can afford it, but we need it.

* Investigate other world 'bolt holes' in case we need to make an exit quickly and don't want to be tracked. Good places to stay. Better to try for worlds similar in technology or not? Don't want to risk running into another one there; keep to worlds different enough to minimise the risk, but 21st C. still easiest to adapt to/fit into. Drawing a line between throwing him off and throwing us out.

* Still feel strange telling Sandra and Lyle everything, though I'm never going to keep secrets like I once did from them. Easy to explain some of the danger; hard to explain what I'm doing. Especially where first two points are related. They need to know what might happen, though.

* Discuss specifics of plans with whom? Whoever I can trust.
(Wish I could put Zane into that category, but I'm still not sure... I'll keep a watch out for him when I can, but I can't give him details until I know where I stand with him.)

Alternates issue: confusing.
I've seen at least four distinct Sylar lookalikes, and only one of them claims to be him. Need to keep an eye on our friend the musician no matter what, though.
However, if I can have an alternate who's actually a computer program, it's entirely possible he's legitimate. Incredibly strange.

-

Talked to a few people who don't know I'm not wanted (alive) at Primatech. News has gotten around, people are on edge. Claire said she'd help, but I'm still worried about letting her get involved, even after everything we've been through recently.
